This is an update I’ve wanted to make for a while, I’ve just been nervous about it for some reason. I think that the way that I refer to voicebanks in general is different than the other’s I’ve talked to.

I wanted to make a big post about why my way of doing it makes more sense to be, but I don’t think most people will care. Basically, I refer to individual voicebanks as “it,” but characters either by the character/voice provider’s pronouns or also “it.” For example, “Suigin Koora VCV V1” is “it,” because it’s a set of recordings and configuration files. I’d refer to “Suigin Koora” as a concept/character with “it/they” pronouns, since I tend to think of my own voice as an object, but the character as a thing that other people can interact with.

I will update all of the voicebanks’ pages to include pronouns, mainly just to clear up confusion but also because it makes me uncomfortable when people use ones that I don’t like (such as using “he/him” pronouns for Suigin Koora).

Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great day!

List of characters and their pronouns (public voicebanks only):
